A professionally restored early Smiths Sectric wall clock. This clock’s delightfully distressed even patina to the dial, is typical of this type and age of Smiths clock. Much sought after by collectors, the oxidation process on the face has been frozen in time with a light matte lacquer. The old burnt-out electric clock motor has been replaced with a new quality quartz battery movement. This is a large clock and the great condition, thick, heavy, Bakelite body is of a high quality and built to last.
In terms of giving this clock an accurate age, I estimate early to mid 1940s, based on the exaggerated “T” in the word Sectric on the dial which was dropped relatively early on in the branding of the Sectric range.
