This original 1930s Gold Painted Lloyd Loom Laundry Basket really is a survivor. Whoever has owned this for the past 88 years has looked after it well. Yes, there are paint loses here and there (as can be seen in the photography) but the original paintwork is in exceptional condition for it’s age and the original label states their pride in their 36 colour options, including Gold and Silver!
Dating the basket is a simple task, as the date stamp on the base indicates November 1938 for manufacture, just two years before the East London factory was destroyed in the Blitz.
Measuring approximately 54cm tall and 32cm wide and 32cm deep
