This one off interior design piece is charming and unique. The lion is made from paper, probably saved just at the right moment, with the age related wear and patina that give him the character that can only come with over 100 years of existence.
Probably made in England Circa 1910 this may have been part of a pull along toy. He looks delicate but is made from surprisingly strong stuff, albeit needing to be handled with care. A thick cardboard body and a painted papier-mâché finish he is temptingly tactile with the mane having the texture, look and feel of an old Oak tree trunk.
Please be advised that the lion will be packaged with the utmost care, however if there is ever so slight loss of the flaking paint, this should not come as a surprise.
Any remaining cobwebs etc will be removed before shipping! Other than that he is good to go.
The price reflects his rarity and desirability and he was not cheap to source.
